The Zero Check Returns

Track this Session

This is a live podcast recording of The Zero Check, a podcast about music that you’ve probably never heard of. Our show fizzled in late 2013 or early 2014 – we can’t really remember. But Steven and Rick, two of the original three hosts, decided to give it another shot. Will we find fame and success? Maybe – probably not. We just have fun talking music and recording the conversation for posterity and/or hilarity.

Join us for our return episode, we’ll discuss two albums that were influential in their own ways, contributing to the evolution of music we hear today.

Elvis Costello – My Aim Is True
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five – The Message

If you like discussing music, it doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced podcaster, or a new listener. You’re welcome to join. Don’t come expecting Alan Cross level music history – we’re just two guys who have fun talking music.

Key Take Aways

  • How to record a basic podcast
  • You'll learn something about Grandmaster Flash you might not have known
  • Same as above but about Elvis Costello
  • That podcasting can be as simple as you hoped it could be
  • Why we called our show the Zero Check
Beginner Podcasting & New Media Session

Q: What kind of volunteer opportunities are there at PodCamp Toronto?

PodCamp Toronto is entirely volunteer-driven! We always need enthusiastic volunteers in a range of areas: manning the registration desk, room hosting and greeting attendees at our traditional Saturday night social. Many previous volunteers have gotten more serious and joined our core organizing team! For more details, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Samuel at volunteers@podcamptoronto.com.
